At the courthouse: the beer poured that made him lose his left eye

B. S is a professional farmer born on 06/10/1990, single without children living in Yéguéresso in Houet. His sidekick JS, born on 01/01/1986 in Yéguéresso, single and father of 4 children, is also a farmer living in Yéguéresso. The second sidekick, TS, is also a farmer living in Yéguéresso, single and father of 3 children. This trio is accused of having intentionally inflicted injury with a slingshot on MS, another resident of Yéguéresso. This left him unable to work for more than ten days. On the stand, B. S, JS and TS all admitted the facts. Victim MS explains: “I went to a kiosk to have a beer before going home. In the meantime, I unintentionally stepped on BS’s feet and apologized to him. But he didn’t want to hear anything from me and we fought. It was after this that his two henchmen joined him and punched me aimed at my left eye. Until now, I no longer see anything from this eye.
BS in turn defends himself by saying. “I was actually in the booth with MS. He trampled on me and I didn’t want to hear anything coming from him. We fought and my little dad JS and my brother TS came to my help,” he explains. JS in turn admits to having hit MS on the back with a stick because he poured his son’s beer BS “No one told me to do it. I did it because my son was in danger and I just wanted to defend him,” he explains.
Responding to a question from the prosecutor, TS declared: “I was not at the scene, it was in passing that I saw my brother fighting. I moved closer to separate them and tell them to go home because it was getting late. That’s when MS turned around and immediately knocked me to the ground. Something I couldn’t bear. That’s why I used my slingshot to stone him, but I didn’t know that he was injured. It was afterwards that I heard that.” After the contradictory debates, the file was postponed until May 14, 2024 pending the final medical certificate for the victim’s eye.
