Netflix has released a series of character posters for the second season of its live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new promotional materials provide a first look at the return of Aang, Katara and Sokka, while officially introducing the live-action debut of Toph Beifong.

The posters focus on the central group of protagonists, known to viewers as the Gaang. Gordon Cormier returns as Aang, with Kiawentiio and Ian Ousley reprising their roles as Katara and Sokka, respectively.

The Introduction of Toph Beifong

A significant portion of the promotional rollout centers on Miya Cech, who joins the cast as Toph. The character, a powerful Earthbender and a fan favorite from the original animated series, was first announced as part of the casting during Netflix’s Geeked Week event in 2024.

Toph’s introduction is a pivotal development for the narrative of the second season, as her role as a teacher and companion is central to Aang’s progression in mastering the elements. The release of the character posters allows the audience to see the visual interpretation of the character before the season premieres.

Expanded Cast and New Characters

Alongside the returning leads, Netflix has confirmed several new additions to the ensemble for the upcoming chapter. Terry Chen has been cast as the firebending master Jeong Jeong, and Dolly de Leon will appear in the roles of Lo, and Li.

The expanding cast also includes Dichen Lachman, Lily Gao, and Madison Hu. These additions suggest a broadening of the world as the story moves into new territories and introduces key figures from the original plot’s second act.

Season 2 Production and Schedule

Netflix has scheduled the premiere of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 for June 25, 2026. This installment will consist of seven episodes, a slight reduction from the eight episodes that comprised the first season.
