Baloff concludes ‘Last Origin’ IP business transfer agreement

[서울=뉴스핌] Reporter Yang Tae-hoon = On the 25th, Balov announced that it had signed a business transfer agreement with Studio Valkyrie for the intellectual property (IP) of the mobile game ‘Last Origin’.

The main purpose of this contract is to expand Last Origin’s business area by securing development and service rights and new intellectual property. Baloff previously acquired the original intellectual property of the game ‘Kritika’ from AllM and successfully re-launched ‘Kritika: Zero’ in the global market.

Studio Valkyrie, a subsidiary of Line Games, is the developer and operator of Last Origin’s Korean and Japanese services. With this contract, Baloff has secured the copyright for all domestic and international services, including Last Origin’s IP and development team.

Last Origin is a turn-based strategy collectible RPG genre game that combines science fiction elements and pretty girl romance. It attracted attention for its unique graphics and storytelling, and became popular immediately after its release, ranking first in One Store sales and sixth in Google Play’s real-time sales rankings. Even after one year of service, it regained first place in One Store sales and built a strong fandom by recording more than 100,000 subscribers to the official cafe.

Baloff said, “We believe that through the acquisition of Last Origin’s intellectual property, we will be able to strengthen the company’s competitiveness and position in the gaming industry and promote sales growth,” adding, “We will provide more diverse types of content by utilizing already proven intellectual property.” “By doing so, we will be able to secure future growth engines and competitiveness and provide fans with a more diverse service experience.”

Meanwhile, Balof, founded in 2007, is a game company that secures development and service rights for other companies’ games based on the global platform VFUN, rebuilds them, and services them domestically and internationally. After listing on KOSDAQ in 2022, it is expanding its scale by acquiring Japanese game publishing company GOP for 10 billion won last year.
