Biden calls on Putin on 30 days phone call… to discuss Ukraine

According to CNN on the 29th (local time), the White House National Security Council (NSC) issued a statement saying: “The two heads of state are discussing various topics, including upcoming diplomatic communications with Russia.”

The phone meeting was at the request of Putin, and it is said that Biden accepted it because he believed that “when it comes to Russia, there is no substitute for summit-to-head dialogue.”

The Biden administration “continues extensive diplomatic engagement with our European allies and partners, negotiating and coordinating a common approach in responding to Russia’s military build-up on the border with Ukraine,” said NSC spokeswoman Emily Horn. did.

In the White House, President Biden had conversations with leaders across Europe, and administration officials said Bucare, which consists of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the European Union (EU), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and nine Eastern European countries. Accordingly, the two heads of state are expected to discuss the security measures requested by Russia and easing of tensions in Ukraine.

Recently, the possibility of an invasion of Ukraine has been raised as Russia has deployed troops to the Ukraine border area. Ukraine hopes to join NATO, but Russia is of the view that if the US approves it, it sees it as a threat to its national security and will take military action.
