The Lucknow District Court rejected the bail plea of journalist Siddique Kappan. The court denied bail in a black money case registered by the Enforcement Directorate. The Supreme Court had granted bail to Siddique Kappan in the UAPA case taken by the UP Police. The allegation in the ED case is that black money was collected for the Popular Front. The court said that the case was prima facie and hence bail could not be granted under the Anti-Black Money Act
