Black Myth: Wukong Takes the Gaming World by Storm

According to Wccftech, an analyst recently said that the sales of “Black Myth: Wukong” have approached 20 million copies, and the first DLC is scheduled to be released in early 2025, which is around the Chinese New Year in 2025, probably between the end of January and the beginning of February. The content is not yet clear. It is rumored that the development team will bring two DLCs before making the sequel to “Black Myth: Wukong”.

Wu Dan, founder and CEO of Hero Games, the largest external shareholder of Game Science, said in an interview with the media that the sales of Black Myth: Wukong are expected to reach 30 million copies in its entire life cycle, and DLC is already in development. The success of Black Myth: Wukong proves that there are top-level domestic games with game production ability, and can use Chinese elements to tell a good story.

However, analysts said that the sales figures of Black Myth: Wukong’s DLC may not be so amazing, and it is expected to account for less than 20% of the total sales of the main game. The reason is that most players are from China and there is a lack of enough core players. At the same time, the game is too challenging, and purchasing DLC is not an interesting option.

Currently, Black Myth: Wukong is available on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and WeGame), and the Xbox Series X|S version is still in production. It is not known whether the game will appear on the Xbox Series X|S platform before the DLC of Black Myth: Wukong is released.
