Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi National Disaster Management Committee announces Blue School project in schools The Blue School project aims to ease Kovid defenses and bring activities back to normal.

The ‘Blue School’ initiative, which will be implemented from the second term of this academic year, will be based on the immunizations received by children. As part of this, schools in Abu Dhabi will be divided into four categories. Schools with less than 50 percent vaccinated students are classified as ‘orange’, schools with 50 to 60 percent vaccinated students as ‘yellow’, schools with 65 to 84 percent vaccinated students as ‘green’ and schools with 85 percent and above students as ‘blue’.

Highly immunized schools will have more concessions on social distance, mask, number of children allowed in classes and buses, extracurricular activities, school events and field trips. There is a special vaccination center for children in Abu Dhabi. In addition, free vaccines are available for children at various vaccination centers across the emirate. The Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine is available for children 12 years of age and older. Synopham is also given to three to 12 year olds.
