German Eurofighters have intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea. It is not the first use of this kind.
The Bundeswehr says it has once again intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea. The Air Force announced on Friday in the online service
A Russian IL-20 reconnaissance aircraft was identified in international airspace over the Baltic Sea “and was subsequently accompanied,” it said. The QRA, which is subordinate to NATO, is intended to ensure airspace security at NATO and federal levels. NATO jets regularly intercept Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
