According to Li Yunfei, head of BYD’s brand and public relations department, the company’s total employee base has exceeded 900,000, with a lead of over 400,000 over the second-place company. Li posted on the company’s official Weibo account, “Of the 900,000, approximately 110,000 are in the technical research and development department, which is also the highest number among all automakers in the world.”
