Players can download a free playable demo of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse right now across multiple platforms ahead of its October 15, 2026 launch, with all save data carrying over to the full game. Konami and developers Evil Empire and Motion Twin released the trial version, allowing users to experience the opening chapters of the franchise’s first mainline entry in over a decade.

Castlevania Belmonts Curse Demo Launches Across Platforms

The free demo is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Push Square reported that the PlayStation 5 download weighs just over four gigabytes and gives players their first look at the Metroidvania action title set in 1499 Paris. The release arrives during the forty-year anniversary of the Castlevania franchise, offering a pre-release trial for players on the fence about the new entry.

Demo Progress Carries over to Full Release

Konami confirmed on the game’s official website that any progress made in the demo carries over to the full release, letting players pick up right where they left off when the game drops on October 15, 2026. Nintendo Life reported that the trial runs smoothly on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, sitting at a steady 60 frames per second—double the locked 30 frames per second announced for the original Nintendo Switch version earlier in the summer. The PC version supports frame rates higher than 60 frames per second.

Dead Cells Developers Take On Vampire Slaying Lore

The new title casts players as Rose Belmont, a successor to the famous vampire-slaying bloodline equipped with the legendary Vampire Killer whip alongside various weapons, relics, and magic. Nintendo Life reported that the project is developed by Dead Cells studio Evil Empire alongside Motion Twin, following the team’s Return to Castlevania downloadable content.
