“There is no evidence of human-to-human transmission or evidence of transmission through milk or meat from livestock,” said Dr. Nirav Shah, principal deputy director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Since 2020, the bird flu virus has been spreading to more animal species, including dogs, cats, skunks, bears, seals, and dolphins, in dozens of countries. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 460 people have died from bird flu over the past 20 years. Most infected people got it directly from birds.
