The Colombian State and two of those involved in the Centro Poblados case entered into a mediation process, within the criminal case that the Prosecutor’s Office and the judges are carrying out for these events, to repair the community affected by the interruption of the contract and bring Internet to the most remote places in the national territory.

This was revealed this Tuesday by the Director of the National Agency for Legal Defense of the State (ANDJE), Martha Lucía Zamora, in dialogue with Colombia Hoy Radio, where she confirmed that the mediation process will be carried out by the Conciliation Center of the Free University .

“The proposal is to intervene the points located in the schools – logically, this is part of the mediation – and guarantee that this is fulfilled. That is why this mediation process that begins with the Free University is so important.”, explained the Director of the ANDJE.

The mediation was accepted by Emilio Tapia and Luis Fernando Duque, two of those involved in the crime. Both were part of the Temporary Union – Populated Centers that in June 2021 presented alleged guarantees False bank accounts with the supposed purpose of keeping a million-dollar contract from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC), to connect vulnerable populations in rural areas of Colombia.

According to the Director of the Agency, Tapias and Duque, who are accused of allegedly receiving an advance of $70,000 million, voluntarily declared their acceptance of the mediation process with ANDJE, which, for the first time, intervenes directly as a representative of the victims in the process.
