INTER – PORTO

Tonight at Giuseppe Meazzi, Inter beat Porto by a minimum of 1:0 in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League.

The hero of the Nerazzurri was Romelu Lukaku, who scored the winning goal in the 86th minute of the game, and previously replaced our Edin Dzeko on the field.

Inter reached the victory with one more player, because from the 77th minute Porto played without Otavi, who received two yellow cards.

Inter had the initiative at the beginning of the game, and they created the first opportunity in the 12th minute. Then Dimarco crossed from the left side, and Lautaro headed over the goal at the second post.

Six minutes later Calhanoglu shot brilliantly, but Diogo Costa saved it. After that, the rhythm of the game completely dropped and we watched weak football, and only in the 37th minute did new excitement come. Then Grujić’s powerful shot was saved by Onan, who deflected the ball onto Glana’s head, and he sent it wide of the goal…

Porto had a great opportunity at the opening of the second half, but Onana stood out with phenomenal saves on two occasions.

In the 77th minute, Otavio, who already had a yellow card, committed a reckless foul, and the Serbian referee then showed him a second, automatic red card and the way to the locker room.

Inter knew how to take advantage of that in the very finish, scoring through Lukaku in the 86th minute. First, the Belgian then hit the post after a cross from the right side, but the ball bounced straight to his feet and then he put it into the net.

It ended with a 1:0 victory for Inter and the Italian team has a minimal advantage before the rematch in Drago.

The match was also marked by the clash between Edin Dzeka and Onana at the end of the first half. There was a fierce verbal confrontation between the two, and Calhanoglu tried to calm everything down…

Džeko was a starter in the Inter team, but Inzaghi took him off the field already in the 58th minute. He was replaced by Lukaku.
