Chelsea Close to Signing Moises Caise: Transfer Updates

Chelsea Close to Signing Top Priority Player Moises Caicedo

According to The Guardian, Chelsea is on the verge of securing the signing of midfielder Moises Caicedo, their top priority target. The British daily newspaper reports that Chelsea is also interested in Southampton’s Romeu Labia, who is being pursued by Liverpool.

After a disappointing season, in which Chelsea finished 12th in the league, the club is determined to revamp its squad. Under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, previously of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea has already seen the departure of key players such as Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante, and Mateo Kovacic. In their place, young talents like Christopher Nkunku, Nicholas Jackson, and Axel Disassi have been brought in.

With the intention of strengthening their squad, Chelsea is now focused on acquiring Caicedo, who made 37 league appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion last season. Brighton, having finished sixth in the Premier League, is demanding a significant fee for the player, with Chelsea’s highest offer of £80 million being rejected. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, although it remains unclear if Chelsea will meet Brighton’s valuation.

Chelsea is eager to finalize the deal before their opener against Liverpool on the 14th. Meanwhile, they are also eyeing Rabia, another target of Liverpool. The club has reportedly made a £48 million offer for the player, while Southampton has set a price tag of £50 million.

As negotiations continue, both clubs are keen to secure their desired signings and strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.

[스포탈코리아] Reporter Lee Seong-min = Chelsea are finally close to signing Moises Caise, their top priority signing.

The British daily newspaper ‘Guardian’ reported on the 10th (Korea time), “Chelsea are set to sign midfielder Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion. Chelsea are even trying to kidnap Southampton’s Romeu Labia, who Liverpool are targeting.

Chelsea invested a whopping 611.49 million euros (about 883.7 billion won) in the summer and winter transfer market last season signing Enso Fernandes, Wesley Popana, Raheem Sterling and Mihailo Mudrik. Hundreds of dollars were poured in, but the results were disastrous. After three managers, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Porter and Frank Lampard, went through the measles that ran through the team, Chelsea received a disastrous report card of 12th in the league.

Chelsea, who had a poor season, began to reshuffle the team by appointing Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino. Previous resources such as Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have left the team. The vacant position of the deceased players was filled by young players like Christopher Nkunku, Nicholas Jackson and Axel Disassi.

Chelsea, who are reorganizing their squad, currently desperately want Caicedo. He made 37 league appearances for Brighton last season. Brighton finished sixth in the Premier League and qualified for the Europa League for the first time in the club’s history. Caicedo is in high demand from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

According to global sports media ‘The Athletic’, Chelsea sent four offers to Brighton, but all were rejected. Chelsea’s last offer was 80 million pounds (about 133.9 billion won). It was a substantial sum, but Brighton are sticking to £100 million (about 167.4 billion won in Korean currency).

Talks between Chelsea and Brighton have been put on hold, but talks between the two clubs have progressed this week, according to The Guardian. However, it is not clear whether Chelsea fully met Brighton’s demands. Caise is also keen on a move to Chelsea. According to The Guardian, he missed the friendly against Rayo Vallecano and did not attend team training on Monday.

Chelsea want Caicedo to join them ahead of their opener against Liverpool on the 14th. Meanwhile, Chelsea are trying to capture Rabia, who Liverpool are showing an interest in. According to ‘The Athletic’, Chelsea have offered £48m (about 80.3 billion KRW) to bring him. Southampton set Labia’s ransom at 50 million pounds (about 83.6 billion won in Korean currency).
