Chennithala says Pinarayi’s dictionary acquits man who tried to suppress violence against women

Ramesh Chennithala said that the government had made a mistake in the distribution of Onakit

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has ridiculed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for accepting legal advice that he was not at fault for his involvement in the minister Shashindran torture case. Only in Pinarayi Vijayan’s dictionary can such a bizarre argument be made. Chennithala said that ending the oppression of women was tantamount to helping the oppressed.

In Pinarayi’s dictionary, it is seen that a person who tried to suppress the oppression of women is acquitted. This is unacceptable. Violence against women and children is on the rise in Kerala. It is clear that the minister’s case has been narrowed down to measures that promote crime instead of controlling it. He added that this can only be seen as a challenge to the people.

Ramesh Chennithala said that the government had made a mistake in the distribution of Onakit. He had told the assembly through a submission that only 25 per cent of the people had received the kit. The then food minister said that the kit would be delivered to everyone before Onam. But that promise was not fulfilled. Those in financial distress may have expected the kit. He also pointed out that the failure to deliver the kit on time was a serious mistake on the part of the government.

The kit is yet to reach millions of people. He said the government should try to get the kit to everyone as soon as possible.
