Increased Passenger Demand from North America to Taiwan
On November 25, Zheng Yulin, the Americas Region Director of China Airlines, announced that passenger demand in the North American aviation sector is booming. This year, demand for flights from North America to Taiwan has surged by 5% compared to last year.
Zheng shared these insights during a media event at China Airlines’ North American headquarters in Los Angeles. He highlighted that while the global aviation industry faces challenges such as aircraft shortages, stable oil prices provide some relief for airline operations.
In July, China Airlines began flights to Seattle, expanding direct service to six destinations in the U.S. and Canada, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Ontario, and Vancouver. The airline operates over 40 flights per week between North America and Taiwan.
China Airlines plays a crucial role in connecting Taiwanese businesses and overseas Chinese with their families and roots. Zheng emphasized the airline’s mission to offer exceptional service and represent Taiwan in the aviation market.
Taiwan’s geographic location positions it as a key transit hub for travelers from the U.S. and Canada to Asia. It is expected that over 3 million people will travel from these regions to Taiwan this year.
To further promote tourism, China Airlines is collaborating with the Taiwan tourism administration. Their goal is to encourage passengers to choose Taiwan as a stopover location.
At the media event, China Airlines showcased its in-flight meals, developed in partnership with Taiwan’s three-star Michelin restaurant “Yigong,” along with beverages from the brand “Utong” and desserts from “Hao.” The airline also introduced eco-friendly travel bags and stainless steel tableware, highlighting its commitment to sustainability.
