Chris Conley, a ‌veteran ⁢NFL wide receiver and free agent,‍ announced his‍ retirement after a decade in the​ league. Conley, who most recently played for the san Francisco 49ers, is trading the gridiron for film school. The former University of Georgia standout will⁢ return​ to his alma mater to study film, according to ‍his agent.

A third-round draft pick, conley amassed 221‍ receptions for 2,926 yards and 15 touchdowns during his NFL tenure. His ‍passion for filmmaking, including a previous “Star Wars” project, influenced his decision.

Conley announced his retirement on Instagram,stating,”When I was a kid I wrote down a set of goals. On that list was‌ ‘Play ⁣10 years in the NFL.’ Now that this goal has been ‍accomplished, it’s time to set ‍sights on something new.”

Throughout his career, Conley emphasized the importance of education. In a letter to⁢ Bulldogs fans at ‍the end of his​ college career, he highlighted his belief in using education to unite communities.
