Chavakkad: CK Riya Basheer from Muthuvattur, Chavakkad became the top scorer for the Kerala team in the Naidu Under-23 Cricket Tournament. Riya Basheer scored 458 runs in the six matches played although Kerala did not progress in the tournament.
Riya, a right-handed opening batsman, has scored a century and four half-centuries. Century-117 against Goa. Scored a half-century in both innings against Railways. The other two fifties came against Andhra and Rajasthan teams.
Riya, who has played in Kerala under-14, under-16 and under-19 teams, has performed well this time. Riya started her cricket training through the Paluvai Cricket Academy. Later, while playing for the Thrissur Apex Cricket Club, he was selected for the Kerala Cricket Association Academy. Currently cricket coach P.
