Classic car electrified MINI officially provides car conversion service – Hong Kong unwire.hk

The MINI Electric Cooper SE launched in Hong Kong last year is the first pure electric MINI to be launched in Hong Kong. However, for some car fans, the current MINI has always lacked the charm of a small car. A few days ago, MINI announced the Recharged plan to allow owners of old MINIs to convert their fuel engines to pure electric propulsion.

This official MINI Recharged program accepts owners to have their 1959 to 2020 MINIs refitted by a dedicated team at the official Oxford factory in England. MINI uses a 90kW motor, which provides the equivalent of 121 horsepower, and the acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers is completed in about 9 seconds. MINI believes that this configuration is easy to navigate in the city.

MINI did not disclose the battery capacity, but only said that the cruising range is about 160 kilometers, and it supports 6.6kW charging. Each modified electric classic MINI will have an exclusive number, the dashboard will also be replaced with an electric version, and the MINI will keep the original gasoline engine for the owner. Pricing and details of the MINI Recharged will be announced at a later date.
