A gang suspected of kidnapping and killing a woman in central Gangnam, Seoul said, “The crime was committed in order to steal the victim’s coin (virtual money).”

The Gangnam kidnappers and murderers were identified as working in a law firm, working in a liquor company, and unemployed, respectively. It was investigated that they were aiming for the victim’s property and planned the crime by following them two to three months ago. Police are investigating whether there are any accomplices, including the possibility of involving family and relatives.

The body of the victim they left was found in a hill near the Daecheong Dam in Daejeon. They are accused of kidnapping a woman in front of an apartment in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 11:48pm on the 29th, killing a woman near Daejeon, and abandoning the body.
The police identified A (30) and B (36) as suspects after receiving a report from an eyewitness who said, “It appears that the woman was forcibly taken into a car and to kidnap.” The two men dragged the objecting woman into a vehicle parked on the side of the road and left the scene.
They picked up the woman and moved to Daejeon, it was investigated that they left the car in Daejeon the next morning and moved to Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province in a rental car. A small amount of blood and a weapon believed to have been used in the crime were found in the abandoned vehicle.
After abandoning the rental car in Cheongju, they took a taxi at 9:30 am on the 30th and fled to Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province. The police arrested Mr A at Moran Station Station in Seongnam at 10:45 am on the 31st, and Mr B at a motel in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam at 1:15 pm. The police obtained statements from them stating that there were more accomplices and the arrest of C (35) at 5:40 pm on the 31st in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
