Boulder Attack: Six Injured in Targeted terror Incident

An attack at an outdoor mall in Boulder, Colorado, left six people injured Sunday, authorities reported. Mohamed sabry Soliman is in custody following the incident at 13th and Pearl Street, a popular pedestrian area. The FBI is assisting local police in investigating what they are calling a “targeted terror attack.”
The victims, ranging in age from 67 to 88, were hospitalized after the suspect allegedly threw an incendiary device into a crowd, according to FBI Special Agent Mark Michalek. Michalek added that the suspect was heard shouting “Free Palestine” during the attack. The district attorney said the attacker will be held accountable,though no charges have been filed.
Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn stated that the suspect used Molotov cocktails and other devices to harm people. At least one victim is in serious condition.
The incident occurred near a Run for Their Lives event,organized to call for the release of hostages held by Hamas.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino stated via social media that the incident is being investigated as an act of ideologically motivated violence.
Police received calls around 1:26 p.m. reporting a man with a weapon setting people on fire, Redfearn said. Arriving officers found multiple victims with burn injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Redfearn noted that a pro-Israel group was holding a peaceful demonstration in the area, but said it was too early to determine a motive.

Authorities contained the scene and are investigating a vehicle of interest. Several blocks surrounding the mall were evacuated.
