Completed construction of President Moon’s Yangsan private residence… Move in after attending the inauguration ceremony on the 10th of next month

The construction of the private residence of President Moon Jae-in in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, has been completed.

On the 18th, Yangsan City announced that it had decided to approve the use (completion) of President Moon’s residence in Yangsan.

Earlier, on the 11th, President Moon’s side applied for permission to use the private residence in Yangsan City. On the 13th and 14th, the deputy mayor of Yangsan City, the manager of the building permit department, and the public official in charge visited the private residence and conducted an on-site investigation before approval for use.

At first, President Moon and his wife wanted to go to their private residence in Maegok-dong, Yangsan, Gyeongnam, where they lived before taking office after resignation, but when it was pointed out that it was inappropriate due to security issues, around April 2020, a 2630.5 m² (795.6 pyeong) site in Pyeongsan Village, Jisan-ri, Habuk-myeon, Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do was built. purchased with private money. Last month, President Moon sold his private residence in Maegok-dong, rice fields, etc. for about 2.6 billion won to cover the cost of building a new private residence in Pyeongsan Village.

Construction of the new residence started in April of last year and was completed in one year. Currently, internal work such as electrical work and interior work has been completed for the residence, and only the outer part of the building is in progress.

Seung Hyo-sang, a high school classmate of President Moon, was reportedly in charge of designing the residence. Seung also designed the tomb of former President Roh Moo-hyun.

As the use of the private residence was approved on the same day, personal items, such as moving items, could also be moved to the private residence in Yangsan.

President Moon will leave the Blue House on May 9 and attend the inauguration ceremony for the election of President Yoon Seok-yeol on the next day, on the 10th, and then move to Yangsan’s private residence.
