‘Conte Ficial’… Lloris-Winks to stay at Tottenham

[인터풋볼] Reporter Park Ji-won = Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris and Harry Winks are likely to remain.

Tottenham Hotspur will play the 21st round match of the 2021-22 season English Premier League (EPL) against Watford at Vicarage Road located in Watford, England on the 2nd (Korean time). Tottenham are in 7th place with 9 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses (30 points), while Watford are in 17th place with 4 wins, 1 draw and 12 losses (13 points).

Before the match, coach Antonio Conte appeared at the press conference. As the transfer market is about to open, questions about the squad have been pouring in. Among them, Director Conte gave a confident answer to Lloris and Winks, whose future was uncertain.

First of all, in the case of Lloris, his contract expires at the end of this season. In addition, recently, he has been strongly associated with his former team, OGC Nice. France’s ‘Foot Mercato’ said: “Nice wants Lloris to become a free agent. They are monitoring Lloris’ contract and are ready to sign him.”

Conte said: “Lloris is our player and Tottenham’s captain. We will talk to the club to find a solution. I think Lloris remains. He wants to stay at Tottenham, loves the club and is content with living. What I said would be the opinion of Lloris.”

Winks was the subject of frequent transfer rumors along with Deli Ali. Seonggol Youth, who joined the Tottenham Academy in 2002 and continued his life, was rumored to be transferred as his chances of appearing sharply decreased after last season.

British ‘Team Talk’ reported that “Everton, Aston Villa and Leeds United are trying to sign Winks.” Even so, Winks showed affection for the team from the beginning. In an interview with The Times, he said, “I love Tottenham. We stayed by each other’s side. I want to keep playing for Tottenham.”

After waiting, I started getting another chance. In the last EPL round 18 match against Liverpool, he was hired by surprise, and he performed tremendously and received a passing score from coach Conte. He also started in the 20th round against Southampton.

It seems that it has clearly entered into Conte’s conception. “Winks has proven that he’s doing well and he’s a reliable player,” Conte said. He will remain at Tottenham. I found players I could trust, and the winks showed me that I could trust them.”
