Husband Taijul Islam was injured in a fight filed by his wife due to a conflict over giving Eid salami in Hatibandha of Lalmonirhat.
Currently he is undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital. The incident took place in Chouputi Battala area of Naodabas Union of the upazila on the morning of Eid (April 11).
According to the source of the complaint, on the morning of Eid, Taijul Islam gave Eid greetings to his nephews for 20 taka. At that time his wife Rasheda Begum asked to pay 10 taka instead of 20 taka. An argument started between the husband and wife. At one point, Rasheda Begum scolded her husband Taijul Islam. It cut Taijul below the neck. Later the locals rescued him and first admitted him to Hatibandha Hospital and later to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Taijul filed a complaint in the police station as a plaintiff in this incident.
However, Taijul’s wife Rasheda Begum denied these allegations. He claims, on the contrary, Taijul tried to hit him with a knife. At that time, when he interrupted, the knife was cut below Taijul’s neck.
Hatibandha Police Station OC (Investigation) Nirmal Chandra Roy confirmed the receipt of the complaint and said that necessary legal action will be taken based on the complaint.
