BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) — China’s Ministry of Public Security on Wednesday (Feb. 28) announced that a group of suspects are involved in cross-border telecommunications fraud affecting Chinese citizens. A total of 268 people have been deported from Laos to Chinese police custody.

These groups of suspects Including eight financial actors, 54 gang leaders and core members, they are involved in more than 1,570 related cases in various local areas in China. This confrontation is another important development in joint law enforcement cooperation between Chinese and Lao police.

The report said Chinese police sent a working group to Laos in January to conduct such cooperation. Police from both countries raided several crime hotspots in Laos. The two were able to arrest the suspects and seize more than 2,400 mobile phones and computers used to commit crimes.

The ministry promised to strengthen cooperation in police matters with relevant countries to search for the criminals. together with the prevention of related crimes Including protecting the safety of people’s lives and property. The related case is currently under investigation.
