The arrests, which targeted⁣ suspects involved in cryptocurrency-related crimes, occurred Monday and ⁢Tuesday, according‍ to Franceinfo.

About a half-dozen suspects were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the attempted kidnapping earlier this month⁤ of the daughter of cryptocurrency executive Pierre⁢ Noizat. the brazen attack occurred May 13 while Noizat’s pregnant daughter was walking with her partner and child.

the Tuesday arrests followed the detention of a dozen individuals Monday in Couëron, near Nantes, France.

amid rising concerns over ⁤violent attacks against cryptocurrency professionals, French Interior minister Bruno Retailleau convened an emergency meeting with industry leaders in mid-May.
