Cyclone Biporjoy| ‘Biporjoy’ was formed in the Arabian Sea; It may turn into a severe cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours

Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Biporjoy has formed in the Arabian Sea. The Central Meteorological Department has said that it is likely to intensify into a severe cyclone in the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department had earlier said that the cyclone would move in a north-northwest direction within 24 hours and that it was likely to focus as a low pressure over the southeast and the nearby Middle East Arabian Sea.

Fishermen are warned not to go to sea in the wake of the cyclone. As the Arabian Sea is likely to be turbulent, the fishermen are advised not to fish from the Kerala coast under any circumstances until further notice.

The notification also states that if anyone has gone fishing in violation of the directive issued by the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority dated 04.06.2023, they should reach the nearest safe shore as soon as possible.
