Park Min-ji topped the KB Financial Star Championship (total prize money of 1.2 billion won), the main tournament of the Korean Women’s Professional Golf tour (KLPGA), held at Blackstone Golf Club (par 72, 6689 yards ) in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 18th. In the final four rounds, which started tied for second, he tied for five birdies and one bogey to record 4-under.

In particular, he showed the power to sweep four birdies in the last six holes. In the quarter-finals, co-leader Lee So-young (25) lifted the championship trophy with a final total of 5 under par. This is his 4th win of the season and 14th of his career. This is the second major championship win after last year’s Korean Women’s Open.

He also wrote a new record. In addition to the winning prize of 216 million won, he recorded a season prize won of 1,04166,9714, becoming the first player on the KLPGA Tour to surpass 1 billion won in season prize money for two consecutive years. The target points were also 514 points, reducing the gap with No. 1 Hae-ran (540 points) and rising to second place.

Following the momentum, Park Min-ji is set to skate for the KLPGA Tour OK Financial Group Pak Se-ri Invitational (total prize money 800 million won) to be held at Serenity Country Club (par 72) in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do for three days from the 23rd. This is the 2nd week in a row of wins and the challenge for the 5th win of the season.

Defending champion Kim Hyo-joo (27) will also skate. Last year, they won 12. Park Hyun-kyung and Lim Hee-jung (age 22), both from OK Serikis, are also preparing.
