Dechaphon Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai continue to impress as they overcame Soo Sungjae and Chae Yujung in a thrilling match to advance to the playoffs of the prestigious Badminton Korea Open 2023.
Yesterday morning (July 21, 2023), the quarter-finals of the Badminton World Tour Super 500 Tournament “Korea Open 2023” took place at the Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu, South Korea. With a total prize money of US $420,000 (approximately 14,700,000 in local currency), the tournament has attracted top players from around the world.
In the highly competitive mixed doubles category, the third-ranked pair in the world, “Bas-Po Por,” faced off against the sixth-ranked pair, Sow Sungjae and Chae Yujung. Having met each other 13 times in the past, “Bas-Po Por” had emerged victorious in 8 of those encounters.
The match showcased the superior skills of “Bas-Po Por” as they dominated Sungjae and Yujung throughout the game. After a closely contested battle, “Bas-Po Por” emerged as the winners with a 2-1 victory (18-21, 21-14, 21-19). They have now secured their spot in the “final round” where they will face Feng Yan Zhi and Huang Tong Ping, the fourth-ranked pair in the world.
