Declaration of the ‘Xi Jinping Era’… A combination of absolute power and nationalism?

◀ anchor ▶

The Chinese Communist Party has adopted a historic resolution that places President Xi Jinping in the ranks of the most powerful figures in modern Chinese history, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.

It was blatantly blatantly idolizing Xi Jinping.

Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping did not let go of power until the very end.

In fact, it seems that President Xi Jinping’s long term of office has been formalized.

Correspondent Lee Hae-in in Beijing analyzed.

It is the third historical resolution adopted after Mao Zedong in 1945 and Deng Xiaoping in 1981.

In the document containing the contents, President Xi Jinping appears 18 times.

Mao Zedong is mentioned seven times, Deng Xiaoping five times, and Xi’s predecessors Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao are mentioned only once.

A third of the content was devoted to introducing the achievements of Xi Jinping’s nine years in office.

“(President Xi Jinping) has a keen insight into the currents of the times, takes the lead and leads the trends, and comes up with original strategic ideas and innovative concepts one after another…”

The 100-year history of the Communist Party was divided into three phases: the period of Mao Zedong, the period of Deng Xiaoping, and the period of Xi Jinping.

Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao were downgraded to the level of heirs to Deng Xiaoping’s legacy.

In particular, he praised the so-called ‘Xi Jinping Thought’ as the essence of the Chinese spirit, and emphasized that it has a decisive meaning in creating a great revival of the Chinese nation.

“President Xi Jinping is the core of the Party and the core of the Party. He has established the leadership position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.”

The ‘Idolization of Xi Jinping’ is interpreted as a stepping stone for an attempt for a third term at the party congress next year.

Unlike Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, who resigned after 10 years in power, he needed a justification to remain in power for a long time, and he had to elevate it to the ranks of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, who had been in power for life.

A successful third term will give President Xi absolute power.

Chinese state media also emphasized ‘Xi Jinping’s leadership’ all at once, and it was predicted that this historic resolution would become a learning resource for 95 million former Communist Party members.

After the conflict with the United States, in China, the young generation of patriotism is so strong that it is called Xi Jinping’s ‘New Red Guard’.

It seems that it remains to be seen which direction the combination of one-man absolute power and aggressive nationalism will lead China.
