Demi Lovato Drops Dance-Ready Breakup Anthem “Here All Night“
Demi Lovato has released her new single, “Here All Night,” a vibrant dance-pop track signaling a new era for the artist. The song, produced by Zhone, is accompanied by a music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis, and is a preview of Lovato’s upcoming ninth studio album.
“Here All Night” is a high-energy track built around a driving bassline and Lovato’s powerful vocals. Lyrics like “Begging for the bass ’til it’s hitting me right/ Sweatin’ on the dance floor under the lights” encapsulate the song’s theme of finding liberation through dance after heartbreak.

Demi Lovato’s move towards a more dance-focused sound is a smart one. After exploring more vulnerable and introspective themes in recent work,”here All Night” demonstrates a willingness to experiment and connect with a broader audience. Zhone’s production is key here – his track record with artists like Kylie Minogue, Troye sivan, and Kesha proves his ability to craft infectious, commercially viable pop. This single feels less about dwelling on the pain of a breakup and more about actively moving through it, a message that will likely resonate with listeners. The choice of Hannah Lux Davis as director for the music video further reinforces this direction, as she’s known for visually dynamic and energetic work.
lovato herself described the song as a departure, explaining she wrote it “by channeling a character.” She stated, “It was so freeing to step into someone else’s story… It’s about dancing through heartbreak. It’s raw and empowering, with a playful, voyeuristic point of view.”
The song will be featured on Lovato’s ninth album, which is being executive-produced by Zhone. Zhone has previously worked with a diverse range of artists, including Kylie Minogue (“Someone for Me”), Troye Sivan (“Rush”), and Kesha (“Joyride”). He told Rolling Stone that working with Lovato has been “inspiring,” praising her as a “master in the studio” and highlighting the album’s focus on “letting inhibitions go.”
here’s a breakdown of Zhone’s recent production credits:
| Artist | Song | Year |
|---|---|---|
| Kylie Minogue | Someone for me | 2023 |
| Troye Sivan | Rush | 2023 |
| Kesha | Joyride | 2023 |
| Demi Lovato | Here All Night | 2023 |
“Here All Night” follows Lovato’s previously released single, “fast,” and continues to build anticipation for the upcoming album. Fans can expect a cohesive dance-pop experience, driven by Lovato’s vocal prowess and Zhone’s expert production.
