Denis: I bear the loss… and Al-Mohammadi: Resoluteness is a great challenge

Greek Giorgos Donis, coach of Al-Wahda’s first football team, described his players’ performance, on Thursday against Al-Hazm, as “the worst” since the start of the current season, holding himself responsible for that.
After the loss to Al-Hazm, the coach said during a press conference: “This is our worst match of the current season, and it came at the worst time. We did not offer anything significant on our home field, and Al-Hazm was the most combative and most willing and deserved to win.”
The match, which belonged to the 29th round of the Saudi Roshan League, ended with the victory of the guest coming from Al-Qassim 2-0.
Donis said the team’s poor appearance was entirely his responsibility.
He explained, “Our players were ready before the match, and we tried to search for a single reason for the poor performance, but we did not find it, and what we presented, from a technical standpoint, in the last five matches was destroyed today.”
During a similar press conference, Al-Hazm coach Saleh Al-Mohammadi considered his acceptance of leadership of the team, at the bottom of the league standings, as a major professional challenge and an opportunity to present himself at the competition level and among its international teams and stars.
He expressed his gratitude to his club management for choosing him as the team’s coach, and he looked forward to keeping up with that by being able to remain among the league clubs, praising the performance of his players against Al-Wahda, despite the fact that they completed the match, starting in the 37th minute, with 10 players, after the expulsion of Ahmed Al-Juwaid, the midfielder, A direct red card.
The Saudi coach said: “We gave everything to win. The expulsion was harsh, and we played for a long time without one player, but we succeeded in keeping a clean sheet and scoring two goals against a more stable opponent than us.”
