Depok Court Bribery: Judges Accused of Accepting $60K for Land Execution Speed-Up

Indonesian Court Officials Accused in Bribery Scheme

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Chairman of the Depok District Court, I Wayan Eka Mariarta, and the Deputy Chairman, Bambang Setyawan, are accused of requesting a Rp1 billion (approximately $63,000 USD as of Feb 7, 2026) fee to expedite the execution of a land eviction, according to allegations made by Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The two officials allegedly enlisted the assistance of Yohansyah Maruanaya, a court bailiff at the Depok District Court, to act as an intermediary in the bribery scheme related to the eviction of a 6,500 square meter plot of land in Tapos, according to a statement released by the KPK.

“Chairman of the Depok District Court, I Wayan Eka Mariarta, and Deputy Chairman of the Depok District Court, Bambang Setyawan, asked Yohansyah Maruanaya, as a court bailiff, to act as a ‘one-stop shop’ bridging the needs of PT Karabha Digdaya with the Depok District Court,” said Acting Deputy for Prosecution and Execution at the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, during a press conference at the KPK Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Asep added that Yohansyah was tasked with secretly negotiating the fee with PT Karabha Digdaya. “Yohansyah was asked to make a secret agreement regarding the request for a fee of Rp1 billion from I Wayan Eka Mariarta and Bambang Setyawan to PT Karabha Digdaya through Berliana Tri Kusuma, Head of Corporate Legal at PT Karabha Digdaya,” Asep stated.

The case stems from a land dispute between PT Karabha Digdaya and local residents over the 6,500 square meter plot in Tapos District, Depok City.

In 2023, the Depok District Court ruled in favor of PT Karabha Digdaya, a decision that was upheld through appeals and a Supreme Court review. In January 2025, PT Karabha Digdaya filed a request for the execution of the eviction. However, by February 2025, the eviction had not been carried out, and the local residents filed a judicial review request.

“PT Karabha Digdaya then repeatedly submitted eviction requests to the Depok District Court, because the land would soon be utilized,” Rahayu explained.

Through Yohansyah Maruanaya, I Wayan Eka Mariarta and Bambang Setyawan allegedly requested the Rp1 billion fee from PT Karabha Digdaya to expedite the execution. However, Berliana Tri Kusuma of PT Karabha Digdaya reportedly objected to the amount. Berliana Tri Kusuma and Yohansyah Maruanaya reached an agreement on a fee of Rp850 million (approximately $50,600 USD as of Feb 7, 2026) for the expedited execution.

Bambang Setyawan then prepared a resume of the planned execution, which served as the basis for the Chairman of the Depok District Court to issue a decree for the eviction on January 14, 2026.

Following the decree, Yohansyah carried out the eviction. After the eviction, Berliana Tri Kusuma handed over Rp20 million (approximately $1,260 USD as of Feb 7, 2026) to Yohansyah. In February 2026, Berliana handed over Rp850 million through a meeting at a golf course, sourced from the cashing of a check linked to payments for fictitious invoices from PT SKBB Consulting Solusindo, a consultant for PT Karabha Digdaya.

KPK Raid at Depok District Court

The KPK apprehended seven individuals from various locations during a sting operation conducted on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Those arrested included I Wayan Eka Mariarta, Bambang Setyawan, and Yohansyah Maruanaya.
