The FAA’s traffic management program,initiated just before 3 p.m., was in affect until 9 p.m. The agency reported average delays of about an hour as of 3:15 p.m., with expectations of longer waits as the afternoon progressed. The flight delays impacted air travel and airport operations.
Data from FlightAware indicated that 474 flights were delayed and four were canceled as of 3:15 p.m. Southwest Airlines bore the brunt of the disruptions, with 211 delayed flights and two cancellations.United Airlines reported 107 delayed flights, while Delta had one cancellation.
