Abruzzo Wine Campaign Success in the U.S.

New York, Nov. 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The “Charming Taste of Europe” campaign highlights the wines of Italy’s Abruzzo region. This in-store tastings initiative celebrated a successful season across 15 U.S. retail locations.

Funded by the European Union, this program showcases high-quality European agricultural products. The Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzo Wines, Bordeaux White Wines Consortium, and the Association of Agricultural Cooperatives of Imathia support the effort. The goal is to raise awareness of premium wines and fruits in the U.S. and Canada.

Since mid-May, the campaign has engaged key states like New York, Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Delaware. Most tastings occurred at Total Wine & More locations, providing direct consumer interactions.

In Florida, tastings took place at Miami Pinecrest and Fort Myers. Texas hosted events in Pearland and Collin Creek, while Delaware and New Jersey held multiple tastings. This wide participation allowed a diverse audience to experience Abruzzo wines.

So far, 105 tastings have been conducted by certified educators, with 245 days of promotional displays. Featured wines included Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC, and Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC. This selection highlights the variety and quality of select Abruzzo wines.

The appreciation for Abruzzo wines is growing. Initiatives like this are important for expanding their recognition. Future efforts will build on this foundation to introduce more audiences to these exceptional wines.
