DJI Drones Disappear From Best Buy Shelves Amid US Ban Threat

Updated June 25, 2025

Empty shelves ⁢where DJI drones once sat at best Buy have sparked questions about‍ the company’s future in the U.S. market. ⁣A recent visit to a Best Buy store revealed the entire DJI section cleared of drones, price tags and product displays, with onyl a few accessories remaining.

Best Buy denied that it is no longer carrying DJI drones but offered no further clarification. A company spokesperson responded anonymously from Best Buy’s press email address and did not provide a name when asked for comment.

The vanishing act coincides with increasing pressure on DJI, ⁢the world’s largest drone maker, which faces a looming de⁤ facto ban on new products entering the United states in less than six months. The ban could be ⁣averted if DJI convinces the U.S.government to audit the company and confirm it poses no national security threat.

Even before a potential ban,DJI appears to be⁤ adjusting its U.S.strategy. In May, the company skipped the U.S. launch of ⁣its Mavic 4 Pro, its moast advanced drone. DJI’s support website also warns of potential 60-90 day delays for repairs.

Price hikes have also affected DJI products. ⁤The Osmo Pocket 3 camera jumped from $519 to $799 in just two months, with DJI citing U.S.-China tariffs as a key factor.

what’s next

It remains unclear how DJI will navigate the challenges ahead. The company may continue selling existing products in the U.S. while launching new models elsewhere, but the long-term impact on its U.S. presence is uncertain.
