This led to a lot of questions about whether other brands of ATK in Thailand can test for Omicron virus, and if so, what’s the difference between getting it quickly or not quickly?
After the research team was able to isolate the Omicron virus successfully. We therefore optimized the viral load using the ATK used by the U of Geneva and found that it was the most capable of detecting the omikron virus as a threshold. We used this assay to detect an isolated Omicron prototype virus in Thailand. Adjust the viral load so that it can be measured without being too intense. to be able to compare with other brands in Thailand We compared viral loads with 11 brands of available assays and measured simultaneously using reagents derived from each of these assays. The test results showed that
1. Nine of the 11 test kits tested were able to measure omikron, with a band on the T visible to the naked eye, and the other two were not visible. But it cannot be concluded that there is no specificity to Omikron. or the measurement level is not as sensitive as other assays, indicating that most assays can be omikron-specific. If there is enough virus All brands that have received positive results should be able to measure them all.
2. The sensitivity of the measurements was found to be different. I graded it as A, which is high sensitivity, can detect clearly, very well. There are 2 brands, which are No. 2 and No. 4, while B means that it has good sensitivity. There are 2 brands, which are No. 7 and 10. The group that received C was the group that received a positive result. Visible, but faded, and the resulting group D is a low sensitivity group, faintly flattened, and finally E, the band at T is not visible at all, which may require further testing.
Because this test is not officially conducted. But this is done to ensure that the ATK that is available in the market does not differ greatly in quality. It can be used to measure omikron no different. And this test is for information on the use of technology. There is no intention to advertise for any company.
