Eight-Year-Old Korean Child Dramatically Rescued After Kidnapping

Seoul = Yonhap News – In a daring rescue operation, an 8-year-old Korean child was successfully saved after being kidnapped in Mandaue, Cebu, Philippines.
According to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the incident occurred on the 10th of this month, when a Korean citizen was abducted in the Philippines.
With the help of CCTV footage released by local media, authorities were able to track the kidnapper, who was seen carrying a large bag believed to contain the child. The perpetrator was seen moving a considerable distance before disappearing in a car.
The child’s concerned parents immediately reviewed the footage and sought assistance from local residents. Collaborating with the Korean embassy and local police, they successfully located the child within approximately seven hours.
The kidnapper, a 32-year-old local, was subsequently apprehended by the police. According to Filipino media reports, the suspect works as a manager at the apartment where the child’s parents reside.
The abducted child is known to be the offspring of a local Korean citizen.
