EcoPromerty and Hanjin KAL Shine as Newly Included Stocks in MSCI Korea Index

/Photo = Design Reporter Lim Jong-cheol EcoPromerty and Hanjin KAL, newly included in Morgan Stanley Capital International’s (MSCI) Korea index are strong in the early part of the market.

At 9:03 am on the 13th in the KOSPI market, EcoPromity is trading at 181,600 won, up 9,700 won (5.64%) from the previous trading day. At the same time, Hanjin KAL also shows 87,400 won, up 10,900 won (14.25%) from the previous day.

On this day, MSCI announced that it would just add EcoPromerty and Hanjin KAL to the Korean index through regular index adjustments in February and remove five stocks, including F&F, Hotel Shilla, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, JYP Ent., and Pearl Abyss. The MSCI index is Morgan Stanley’s global index and is regularly changed four times a year.

As of this time, Hyundai Mipo Shipyard, stock deleted, is down 4.15%. F&F, Hotel Shilla, JYP Ent., and Pearl Abyss all remain in the flat range.

Rebalancing according to this regular change will take place after the market closes on the 28th. Index-tracking passive funds are expected to move due to inclusion and deletion.
