Ederson Withdraws from Brazil’s World Cup Qualifiers Due to Injury
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has announced his withdrawal from Brazil’s national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the South American zone. The 30-year-old player cited a left foot injury sustained during a Premier League match where Manchester City faced Chelsea and ended with a 4-4 score last Sunday.
As Brazil prepares to face Colombia on November 17th and then play at home against Argentina, the 2022 world champions, on November 22nd, they will have to do so without Ederson. In his absence, 24-year-old Bento, a goalkeeper from Atletico Paranaense, has been called up to replace him.
