Empowering Sudan’s Future: How ‘Basira’, ‘Azwa’, and ‘Tawouk’ Can Spark a Brighter Democratic Dawn
Strengthening Sudan’s Civil and Democratic Transition
“True democracy means not only eliminating injustice, but also ensuring that everyone is heard and respected.” - Mahatma Gandhi
The Sudanese community is the backbone of the country’s strength, with its diversity and resilience making it a symbol of hope for a better future. Despite decades of oppression and corruption, society remains the driving force for change and transformation.
The challenges facing Sudan today are not a result of a conflict between modern and traditional forces, but rather a need for unity among all sectors of society. Political parties, civil society organizations, tribes, Sufi orders, and sects all have a crucial role to play in achieving democracy and building a future that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
The forces of counter-revolution, extremism, and intolerance continue to threaten the country’s stability, feeding on divisions, ignorance, and fear. It is essential to act now to prevent the repetition of past tragedies and ensure a united and stable Sudan.
The country has paid a heavy price for its civil wars, with lives lost, families torn apart, and the economy collapsed. Immediate action is necessary to stop the ongoing bleeding and prevent further destruction.
Democracy and stability will not be achieved through wishful thinking or empty slogans, but rather through thoughtful actions and solid plans. A clear vision for strengthening the civil transition and democratic transition is essential to break the cycle of violence and divisions.
Three Pillars for a Stronger Sudan
To achieve this vision, three basic pillars are necessary:
1. “Basira” Center
A research center and intellectual platform that brings together studies and visions to build a new Sudan that enhances national unity. “Basira” will study the political, economic, and social conditions in Sudan and provide innovative solutions that reflect the country’s diversity.
2. “Azwa” Front
A united front that includes political parties, civil society organizations, tribes, Sufi orders, and sects. “Azwa” will bring all these forces together to strengthen unity and tackle attempts at division that threaten the country’s stability.
3. “Tawouk” Oversight Body
An independent body that monitors and ensures transparency and integrity in the democratic transition. “Tawouk” will prevent corruption and manipulation, ensuring that every step in the transition is carried out with transparency and accountability.
It is time for collective action and perseverance from all Sudanese citizens, political parties, tribes, Sufi orders, sects, and civil society organizations. The transition to true democracy requires a joint effort, and every day that passes without action is an opportunity for the forces of corruption and division to penetrate further into society.
Protecting Sudan from evil is no longer an option, but rather an inescapable duty that falls on every individual in the country. The time for action is now, and it is a collective responsibility that cannot be delayed.
