The ongoing investigation by the ED into a money laundering case involving the owners of Mahadev app has brought this issue to light. It has been reported that money was being transferred discreetly during the state elections. As a result of the investigation, Asim Das A was arrested, and a considerable amount of 5.39 crore rupees was seized from him.

When questioned about the money, Das claimed it was intended for state election expenses, specifically for the welfare of children. The ED, however, maintains its suspicions about the source and purpose of the money.
