Milenko Tomić from Bijeljina was sentenced to 12 years in prison for molesting a 13-year-old girl whom he trained, it was confirmed Doe in the District Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bijeljina.

The Prosecutor’s Office in Bijeljina did not want to comment on the fact that Tomic, as reported by the media, did not appear at the trial.

The last time Tomić was at his home address was two days before the sentencing, they reveal “Independent newspaper“.

Let us remind you that he was under house arrest and the police visited him twice a day, as they point out from the Bijeljina Police Department.

“According to the decision of the District Court in Bijeljina, the police officers of the Bijeljina Police Station checked the presence of MT from Bijeljina at his home address twice a day. On March 27, 2024, in the evening hours, it was determined that he was not at his home address,” it was said for “Nezavisne newspaper” from the Bijeljina Police Department.

They add that the search for him is ongoing.

“After it was established that MT was not at the address, the District Court in Bijeljina was immediately notified and from that moment police officers intensively searched for him,” the Bijeljina police told “Nezavisne novine”.

Clerk of the Court Milomir Čodo said that Tomić was convicted of the criminal offense of molesting a child under the age of 15.

Tomić was tried for the rape of a 13-year-old girl who trained boxing at his club. The indictment against Tomić for molesting a child under the age of 15 was brought up on January 31, 2022, and the District Court in Bijeljina ordered him to be detained until the sentencing, a maximum of two years from the date of confirmation of the indictment on February 1, 2022.

He was released from detention after the District Court replaced this measure with house arrest.

The prosecution, lawyers and the child’s family previously indicated that the trial was being delayed so that Tomić’s detention would expire.
