Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl apparently wants to increase her love for Russia. The politician, for whose wedding President Putin once arrived, is said to be toying with a move to Russia. This is reported by the Russian news agency Tass.

In a speech at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, in which she praised the Kremlin chief, she said that she still pursues the idea of ​​moving to Russia. When asked if she would also like to have a Russian passport, she reportedly said it was not up to her to decide.

“To become Russian, I need to learn Russian well,” she said. You first have to read “War and Peace” to the end, absorb Dostoyevsky and at least two works by Chekhov, then you can talk about it. But Kneissl said she was very open. She currently feels very French and European. She doesn’t miss her home country of Austria.

Kneissl later moved to Lebanon. The FPÖ politician was Foreign Minister from 2017 to 2019. A curtsey to Putin caused an international sensation. After her political career, she moved to the supervisory board of the Russian energy company Rosneft. But she wanted to leave again in May 2022.

On Twitter announced seminars on energy policy and Russia’s role in the Middle East. According to the AFP news agency, she is to become head of the think tank in St. Petersburg.
