Former police officer A, who was arrested on charges of handing over investigation materials to Seongnam Mayor Eun Su-mi and taking advantage of interest, was sentenced to 8 years in prison in the first trial.
The court said, “It is absolutely unacceptable from the point of view of the public for a police officer to take advantage of information on the investigation.”
Person A was accused of concluding a contract with a specific company and collecting about 75 million won in exchange for showing the investigation report to Mayor Eun, who was being investigated for violating the Political Funds Act.
