Excitement until the last ball, Ireland falling to victory; Series for India

Dublin: Hardy and his team beat Ireland by four runs in a thrilling match till the last ball. Ireland needed six runs off the last ball. But Umran Malik conceded two runs. Chasing 226, Ireland ended the innings at 221.

Deepak Hooda, who scored a century in the second match, was the man of the match and the man of the series. Stirling and Balbirini gave Ireland a flying start as they set out for a big victory. Ireland’s score reached 72 just as Stirling was sent off in the powerplay. Stirling returned with five fours and three sixes off 18 balls. Balbirini scored 60 off 37 balls. Seven sixes came from the star’s bat.

It was the batting of George Dockrell and Mark Adair in the final overs that drew Ireland closer to victory. Dockrell scored 34 off 16 balls while Adee scored 23 off 12 balls. Among the Indian bowlers, Bhuvi, Herschel, Ravi Bishnoi and Umran took one wicket each.

Sanju and Hooda added 176 runs

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat, but lost Ishant Kishan early. But Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda found the perfect combination. The duo put on 176 runs for the second wicket. Sanju hit nine fours and four sixes in his 42-ball innings. Deepak Hooda hit 10 fours off 57 balls with nine fours and six sixes.
