Expanding Disclosure: Doosan Energy Goes Beyond Business Sites in Reporting Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Doosan Enerability has recently unveiled its ‘Integrated Report 2023’, providing comprehensive insights into its business performance and sustainability management activities throughout the past year. In this report, the company presents a glimpse into the projected performance of its four key growth sectors in 2022, namely the conversion of gas turbines into hydrogen turbines, the development of next-generation nuclear power plants including small module nuclear power plants, the expansion of new and renewable energy sources such as offshore wind power, and the advancement of the hydrogen wind power business.

Moreover, Doosan Energy has taken a significant step in expanding the disclosure of information concerning greenhouse gas emissions. Not only has the company undergone third-party verification for greenhouse gases (Scopes 1 and 2) produced directly or indirectly from its business sites, but it has also made the bold move to disclose other indirect emissions (Scope 3) generated outside of its premises for the first time this year. The Scope 3 assessment was conducted in five categories, encompassing capital goods, employee commuting, and business travel.

Kim Dong-cheol, the executive director of Doosan Enerbility, emphasized the implementation of an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management philosophy throughout the organization, integrating it into the decision-making process to ensure sustainable growth and the creation of societal value.

Presenting an unwavering commitment to transparency and responsibility, Doosan Enerability’s efforts to disclose a wider range of greenhouse gas emissions underscore its dedication to tackling climate change and advancing sustainability practices. This move signifies the company’s aspiration to lead the industry in environmental stewardship, aligning its operations with global emissions reduction goals.

Overall, Doosan Energy’s Integrated Report 2023 showcases its unwavering dedication to sustainable growth and its determination to foster a greener and more sustainable future.
