It has been claimed that North Korean soldiers deployed to Russia were addicted to pornography while freely accessing the Internet.
Gideon Lackman, senior commentator on foreign affairs at the Financial Times (FT), quoted a reliable source on the 7th (Korean time) and said, “North Korean soldiers who came to Russia are addicted to pornography.”
Lackman found the cause in the current state of North Korea’s Internet environment, saying, “It is said that North Korean soldiers had never had free access to the Internet before coming to Russia.” Even in Russia, internet access is not free. However, compared to North Korea, which allows only the most restricted access in the world, it is quite generous.
North Korea has been sending troops to Russia since the end of last month. South Korea and the United States currently estimate the number of North Korean troops gathered on the Kursk Front in Ukraine to be around 10,000.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the first battle with North Korean troops had taken place. According to the New York Times (NYT), a significant number of North Korean soldiers appear to have died in the first battle.
