F1: David Coulthard “Verstappen’s posture is reminiscent of Senna and Schumacher”[F1-Gate .com]

Former F1 driver David Coulthard says 2021 F1 World Champion Max Verstappen will be the “brilliant” and “conflict” driver of the same time as Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher. ..

Max Verstappen won his first F1 World Champion in a fierce title battle with the controversial Lewis Hamilton from the beginning to the end of the season.

Those controversies weren’t necessarily related to Max Verstappen’s driving, but his somewhat aggressive style has always been controversial since joining the F1 grid in 2015.

David Coulthard says Max Verstappen’s “brilliance” and “seed of conflict” aspects are reminiscent of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.

“He’s an extraordinary person and an extraordinary athlete,” David Coulthard told Channel 4.

“He’s brilliant and a source of contention. Who else is there? Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, to name just a few. Only a few can do that.”

“To be fair to Lewis, he was able to win an amazing number of championships in a very clean way. He’s not very controversial.”

“With the power of Mercedes and Lewis, Max definitely had to take a different approach. His approach doesn’t hesitate whenever the door is partially open.”

“And Lewis knows he’s coming, so he has to keep opening the door. That’s in Lewis’s spirit.”

Max Verstappen’s overtaking is particularly controversial, and many find it too aggressive to be severely punished by the FIA.

But David Coulthard praises Max Verstappen’s courage and dedication in making such a move, which he considers most impressive.

“Max had to fight for it and was a winner all the time, but skipped some low formulas to get into F1,” added David Kurdood.

“He’s not afraid of anyone. It’s not part of his spirit. What I find most impressive is that if there’s a gap, he doesn’t hesitate. There’s no doubt about it.”

“When I was racing, I was thinking’whether I should take the risk now or not’. He doesn’t hesitate at all. It’s really special.”

Max Verstappen, who won the title in a controversial situation, was the best performer of the season with both team principal and fellow F1 driver votes.
