Bhopal: A woman police constable was gang-raped by three men during a birthday party in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district. Police arrested the main accused and his mother on the basis of a 30-year-old complaint. A case has been registered against five persons in the incident. The search for other culprits continues.
The incident took place in Neemuch earlier this month. The woman had lodged a complaint with the police on September 13. The victim was gang-raped during a birthday party at the accused’s house. According to the woman’s complaint, the main accused, his brother and another friend tortured her.
Defendants who filmed the scene on the phone threatened to kill him if the torture information was leaked. According to the complaint, the mother and relatives of the main accused threatened her and tried to extort money after the incident.
The main accused befriended the girl through Facebook last April. The two later continued their friendship through WhatsApp. The accused and his accomplices gang-raped the girl after she was called home for her younger brother’s birthday party. Police said further investigation into the case is in progress.
